I joined this group about 2 years ago and followed the protocol with amazing results.
Within just a few months I felt I could do anything! (Comparatively speaking.) Of course,
I've had my ups and downs, but overall I'm doing great compared to 2 years ago. I found
out about a year ago that the reason for my hormones being out of whack is Lyme. Lyme
tends to keep things messed up, so it's been hard to get all the way better, but I can
function at a good level most of the time. Still can't work because of memory issues and
when I do too much I flare, but I can take care of my family now. :-)
So, for the last 6 months or so I've had one major complaint. I can only sleep about 5 or
6 hours then I'm up! It's not horrible, I know, but it is starting to get to me! And it
doesn't matter what time I go to bed. If I go to bed at 10 (like last night), I'm up
between 3 and 4. If I go to bed at 1am, I'm up between 6 and 7. 2 years ago, I was a 10 or
11 hour a night sleeper, so I seem to have gone to the extreme the other way!
When I wake up after the 5 or 6 hours of sleep, I'm up! I can not go back to sleep. Maybe
once or twice a month I can, but usually not. And I rarely need a nap during the day to
get through, except when it gets close to my period. So, on the surface, it doesn't seem
bad, but I just feel that this has to do with my memory issues and inability to lose any
more weight and the other minor complaints I have. I just don't think I'm one of those
people who only needs a little bit of sleep!
I've played with my T3 dose a bit thinking I was taking too much and that was keeping me
from sleeping. On average I take about 75 mcg. Usually during the summer I take a little
less - 50 to 62.5 mcg. I've recently been trying 50 mcg and while I still feel pretty ok
on it, my bowels slow down to a crawl!
My basal temps are pretty stable, but a little low right now - 97.6 to 97.8. I haven't
been tracking my dailies. Blood pressure is good too. I take 25-30 mg cortisol, 1 mg
florinef, and 20 mg progesterone on days 5 to 25 of my cycle, plus a whole host of
supplements including magnesium and iron. I had labs done about 2 weeks ago, but haven't
gotten the results yet. I can probably get them in the next few days.
Would love to know your thoughts on what is keeping me from sleeping! I can't seem to
figure it out or even come up with something!
Thanks so much!
